It's not only the US insurers who are looking to increase motor premiums. Here in the UK the Association of British Insurers (ABI) recorded its highest ever UK insurance prices but what's behind these high costs is a source of debate,
Drivers of course are being blamed, as more and more accidents relating to smartphone use are being recorded. We apparently text and call more whilst driving and the newer technology found in cars is more expensive to repair.
However, in the UK the rate of insurance premium tax, is being blamed and the planned increase in June this year means that since July 2015, the rate we pay has doubled.
So while the insurers look for profitability, the bill apparently will be paid by the motorist.
